A-CBT Certification Policy

This Certification Policy ("Policy") applies to www.academyofcbt.org, and The Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapy ("Company") and governs data collection and usage.

The Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (A-CBT) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of professional excellence, transparency, and fairness in its certification processes. The following Certification Policy outlines the terms, conditions, and expectations associated with participation in A-CBT certification programs.

1. Certification Fees & Refund Policy

All A-CBT Certification fees are nonrefundable. Certification fees cover administrative processing, application review, access to certification materials, and ongoing operational costs associated with maintaining the integrity of the certification program. Once payment is submitted, no refunds or chargebacks will be issued, regardless of changes in personal, professional, or financial circumstances.

We strongly encourage all applicants to review certification requirements and timelines carefully prior to submitting payment.

2. Certification Timeline & Completion

Our A-CBT standard is that all Certifications are completed within two (2) years of the original application date. Candidates may progress through the certification process at a pace that aligns with their professional and personal commitments. Payment secures access to the certification pathway, not immediate or guaranteed completion.

3. Applicant Responsibility

Applicants are responsible for:

  • Reviewing and understanding all certification requirements prior to applying
  • Submitting accurate, complete, and truthful application materials
  • Completing all required components of certification, including documentation, reviews, and evaluations
  • Monitoring communications from A-CBT and responding within requested timeframes when applicable
  • Failure to meet certification requirements may delay or prevent certification but does not constitute grounds for a refund.

4. Administrative Discretion

A-CBT reserves the right to:

  • Request additional documentation or clarification at any stage of the certification process
  • Update certification requirements, procedures, or fees with reasonable notice
  • Decline, suspend, or revoke certification if ethical, professional, or policy standards are not met

5. Chargebacks & Payment Disputes

Applicants agree to contact A-CBT directly with any questions or concerns regarding billing or certification status prior to initiating a credit card dispute. Initiating a chargeback does not negate the nonrefundable nature of certification fees and may result in administrative review or suspension of certification activity until resolved.

6. Policy Acknowledgment

Submission of payment for A-CBT Certification constitutes acknowledgment and acceptance of this Certification Policy in full.

For questions regarding certification policies or requirements, please contact the A-CBT administrative office directly.

This policy is subject to change. The most current version will always be posted on the A-CBT website.
