Diplomate Scholarships

The Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies provides scholarships to professionals seeking certification in cognitive behavioral therapy and early career CBT professionals who identify as members of the BIPOC community. This program allows early career professionals who identify as Black, Indigenous, or as a person of color to apply for participation in the Academy’s Diplomate Program as a Certified Cognitive and Behavioral Health Therapist.


Diplomates participate in an evidence-based, interdisciplinary, and mission driven organization

bringing the latest in CBT advancement to our profession and the consumers we serve.

Trainer Consultant Scholarships

For those who have been a Diplomate with the Academy for at least five (5) years, you are now eligible for certification as a Trainer Consultant. The Trainer Consultant program has many benefits, including but not limited to Rating and Training on behalf of A-CBT. Further, the Trainer Consultant program assists in your own professional development towards advancing Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies.


As the Academy is growing our training services, it becomes important that we have a robust number of CBT professionals qualified to train on behalf of the Academy, specifically more

trainers and consultants with diverse backgrounds and cultures. The Academy is deeply committed to the inclusion of diverse voices. Additionally, there is an increasing demand for specialty CBT training services, for areas such as Trauma, eating disorders, SMI, addiction, among many others.

A Foundation on Your Path to CBT


The Academy of Cognitive and Behavioral Therapies (A-CBT) is committed to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion throughout the CBT community. Guided by the Diversity Action Committee (DAC), the Academy’s BIPOC Scholarship Program supports Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) professionals in advancing their expertise, certification, and leadership within the field.

Through this program, A-CBT provides financial assistance and professional development opportunities at two certification levels — Diplomate and Trainer Consultant. Each scholarship is designed to reduce financial barriers and empower more BIPOC clinicians to obtain A-CBT credentials while contributing their unique perspectives and cultural insight to the profession.


Scholarship Benefits Include:

  • Coverage of certification and membership fees
  • Partial reimbursement for A-CBT conference registration
  • Access to mentorship, committee participation, and professional networking opportunities


By expanding representation among certified CBT professionals and trainers, the DAC BIPOC Scholarship Program helps ensure that the future of cognitive therapy reflects the diversity and lived experiences of the communities we serve.
